Today’s NMA represents more than 30,000 members and serves as a collective voice for members and their patients. The organization addresses several key areas on behalf of persons of African descent and underserved populations who are disproportionately or differentially impacted by disease, disability, and adverse health conditions in communities across the country, as well as people of African descent working in medicine. The NMA conducts community outreach, provides education programs and opportunities for scholarly exchange, and establishes a national policy agenda to support its mission.
