Interestingly, the overall rate of 30-day unplanned hospital readmissions in patients who underwent head and neck surgery (7.3%) was identical to a 2013 Washington University published rate for otolaryngology patients (JAMA Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. July 23, 2015. doi:10.1001/jamaoto.2015.1323).
