There are so many options available that the crystal ball is, at best, murky. Many politicians are pushing for universal coverage. Yes, everyone would have coverage, but what degree or amount of coverage? Is it just catastrophic or full indemnity coverage? There are no definitive answers yet, but many of the proposals have interesting components that should be analyzed and debated.

December 2007As health care professionals, we need to be aware of the various proposals offered by the candidates and plug that into the calculus of how we decide to cast our votes. If a proposal is put before Congress, we need to get involved and let our representatives know what we think is right.
